Gilmore just happens to be the Goerend installer for Missouri. I like my auto for racing but for strickly towing heavy in the ozark hills I would prefer the manual so I would have more rpm choices. As far as mileage is concerned I really don't think there's any difference between a properly prepared auto and a stick.

I don't disagree about the cummins over the stroke. I am just lazy and for my day to day operations the auto is much handier for me. Really the auto's don't shift that much with a load, just run a comfortable tune and lay into it.

i say this, i'll tear up either one of the pieces of crap. you give me a trannsmission and i'll find a way to f it up. and puff, so what if auto's have fastest times, there's nothing like seeing a 6spd being called an auto by onlookers.

How can you be a gear jammer and drive a auto?
I did go drive a new truck yesterday with the 6spd auto. I still wasn't impressed. Going 70mph and punched it all it did was drop a gear and wind up the rpms and didn't hardly take off. I think I'll stay with a stick so it will actually go when I want it to.
A buddy of mine just bought a 450 for half price so I might look at the new ones to see what kind of deal I can get.

I've drove a stick my whole life so I have jammed a few gears in my day. My daily drivers are still sticks.
