Thats cool. Figured I might need another set of hands once it come time lift up the new trans on the jack. But I have a cherry picker, just gonna have to pull it out.

It's done. Thank god my friend showed up just after I dropped the old tranny because I don't know how I was gonna get the new one on top of the jack under the truck. Suck that he only stayed for 10 minutes but an important 10 minutes thou. All went smooth except that once I was done and started to go for a drive, I pushed down the brake pedal and pop. Found a hole in the rear line right behind the gas tank[verymad]. So back to the store for some new line and a compression fitting. Very happy with the new trans, really lets out the power and I wasn't even on it that much (1/2 throttle). Now it time for a turbo[guitar][guitar][guitar]

how long it take you
What kinda trans u put in

I guess about about 10 hours total but I did other stuff too. Like install new brake in the rear, install new tranny line with 1/8 port on the hot side, retorque exhuast, put alot of extra time in cleaning out the trans cooling lines, couple trips to the parts store for bs that I thought I had and misc other stuff that isn't involved with just replacing trans. All in all I think I could do it by myself within 6-7 hours with no issues now. Plus this was the first time that did a trans in this truck, Next time should be alot faster.

It took us 11 hours for Jasons trans, and that was with 3+ guys helping, a lift, trans jack and all the parts needed to do the job. I guess that some times they just give you a fit and some times they are a piece of cake.

Sometimes to many people actually slow down the process. But I wouldn't turn them away if they were gonna help me[laugh]. What was giving you'll problems? I had one heck of a time getting the transfer case off, like the bolts welded itself with rust in the hole that bolts go thru the trans. Nothing alittle pb blaster and some wedges couldn't take care of.

Lots of things were giving us problems, check the never ending thread for the main culprit.

yeah, mine took like 9 hours with two guys. Biggest pain ever. Everything that needed to be saved, didnt want to come out. Everything that was tossed out, came off without a problem
