Fuel pressure slow to build

Just noticed this morning that on my fuel pressure gauge, the pressure is slow to build.

Just installed a new Air Dog the beginning of this year and all was well and worked great. I had an instant 15psi.
Now when I start the truck, the pressure takes a few seconds to start building on the gauge and then takes about ten to twenty seconds to get up to 15psi.

Should I be looking at the fuel pump or at the gauge????

And what is the trick to get the fuel pump to prime????

**** your whole fleet is going down!

Its either not building pressure because theres a air leak in the system or your filters are clogged. where is your pressure gauge at in system?

Funny, I know!!! @#$%

The pressure gauge is right at the VP44. Right at the fuel inlet.

The truck does not get driven often and is only being driven now because the Jeep is down.....

Check for leaks and change the filters.

If its leaking you should see some dampness around the fittings or lines.

It's probably the gauge line. Is there still Gylcol in it?
Crack the air bleed on the isolator. I had similar problems with mine.

Glycol in gauge line -> Check
Bleed fuel line to isolator -> Check
Water separator -> Check
Drained Separator and Filter -> Check

No new dampness. Still the same old dirt that is always there....

This all happened after the most recent fill up.
Filled tank drove home, parked truck, went on vacation.
Started truck after a week.

Slow fuel pressure.....

Pump kinda sounds like it is aerating.

UPDATE...!!!!!!

Never trust a visual inspection..

Disconnected fuel pressure line from the fuel pressure gauge isolator.
Connected secondary fuel pressure gauge.
Activated the AirDog and got instant 15psi pressure.

Yeah!!! Full pressure!! Instantly, just like before.

So problem is between isolator and fuel pressure gauge.
Removed fuel pressure gauge fitting from isolator and guess what.....??

No Glycol in the isolator..

Filled isolator with glycol.
Reconnected fuel pressure gauge line.
Activated fuel pump.

Instant 15psi...........WooHoo!!!!!!!

Now I can relax and realize that I always had pressure, so no damage has been done to my brand new VP44...

Strange minor setback.....

Went to check and test the fuel pressure again, (Just because I wanted to make sure) and the fuel pressure gauge was still reading 15psi....

Must have pinched the tubing going to the gauge upon re-install....

Simple enough...

Removed line, cut end(and crimped piece) installed new ferrule and fitting....

Perfect!!!!!!
