**** dude that sucks sorry to hear that!

md-rebel May 21, 2010 11:40 PM

Man oh man that does suck. Sorry.

06 DIESEL May 22, 2010 05:15 AM

Hey at least it is smiling at you while it is giving you the #1 salute.

BigErksG2 May 23, 2010 10:11 PM

I just hope I remember how everything went back together. Haha

06 DIESEL May 24, 2010 05:38 AM

Don't you mean how everything came apart so you can put it back together? Unless you already put it back together? I know with that mess that you have in the garage I would be worried also.

scottsjeeprolet May 24, 2010 05:59 AM

Sorry to see the damage Eric.
So did you pull the engine or do it in truck? Good luck with the build.

BigErksG2 May 24, 2010 08:47 AM

Pulled the engine.

Travis - It was late. haha Still in pieces.

Is the truck still for sale?

bigsingle May 24, 2010 10:06 AM

How bad is the wall on #6? Need bored or just honed?

06 DIESEL May 24, 2010 11:38 AM

A light hone will clean it up, it barely catches a nail, if you did not know what you were looking for you would never even see it.

bigsingle May 24, 2010 11:50 AM

if no machine work is needed on the block, then it a relatively easy fix. i can ask around, i might know where there are some 12v heads.

06 DIESEL May 24, 2010 03:38 PM

Head is re-usable according to Eric yesterday. It is up at Mumau Diesel.

BigErksG2 May 24, 2010 04:13 PM

Jeff said his machine shop shouldnt have a problem re-seating the valves so I was lucky and can reuse my head. I just wish the shop he uses could weld and machine the seats so I would have to never worry about it again but he assured me he has never had a problem with dipping the seats in liquid nitrogen to get a tight fit. Hopefully he is right because I would be cool with never having to do this again.

94 12valve May 25, 2010 11:32 AM

Eric, we install all out valve seats at work the same way Jeff is installing yours. They go through many start ups , run time, rapid cool downs, and we have not droped a valve seat yet. We let them soak in liquid nitrogen for about 30min each then beat them in with a hammer.
