Noobie here
Hello everyone, thx for letting me join, let me tell you a story. I will try to keep it short. I live in central Kansas not much goes on around here unless you are a farmer. I am not a farmer. I do in fact drive a 18 wheeler. I haul grain from field to elevator for a living. I've never owned a diesel in my life. Driven them for a long time. I've always wanted a diesel truck truck. I needed it to pull my 5th wheel camper. not safe to do with a 1/2 tom truck. So I'm driving down the hwy and spot this 1ton dully setting on the roadside with a for sale sign. I call the number. as usual we have title mess ups. get that figured out. I then get it registered, insured. I drove it home got to fully inspect the truck found out it has no parking break that works, the break light& the anti lock break light on the dash cluster stays on. plus the passenger side rear leaf spring is broke. oh and the cruise control does not work either. Now at this point I've had the truck for a month now and have not driven it 100 miles yet .I might have 50/75 miles on it. I took it too a repair shop to get the spring replaced they had it for a month and never touched the truck. so i ordered a leaf spring pack for it. placed order Tuesday received the spring on Wednesday, (YESTERDAY). I will do it my self.. Any way, I replaced he the abs sensor that sets on top of the rear pumpkin housing and the abs light is still on. I think I got screwed when I bought the truck. I bought the truck for $8,500 I had to replace the entire front bench seat. that was about $600 off e bay I put 2 new tires on the front end. IM still finding small things pop up as i drive it. This was a farmers/ranchers truck. they beat the holy crap out of this truck. They told me they had the engine and powertrain overhauled. Engine tranny ,transfer case. And u joints. The truck has literally just under 300,000 miles on it. Now that i have the leaf spring ,I'm trying to locate a replacement park break assembly that is mounted to the kick panel. (foot operated). I still have the ABS and Break light on the dash. I'm still no closer than i was the day I bought the thing to getting it safe enough to drive. This truck is a 1999 dodge ram 3500 1 ton dully with a 5.9 liter Cummins engine with turbo and 4x4, 5 spd tranny. This is about it in a nutshell, this is where I am at to this day.
Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated
