New Member saying Hello

Hello members of DTR. I'm a retiree, most of the time Florida but still travel to Michigan to visit original home/friends, I am on my 3rd Ram/Cummins Truck, The first was an 89 1 ton, 12 valve, 199,000 when I sold it, second was an 02 2500 5.9L, the best so far, had to give it up at 253,456 due to being totally wrecked by another vehicle/accident, I and a passenger walked away though. My third is an 07, 5.9L, 107,458 on the meter. I'm still getting use to the cheap dash/interior/seats(already had to have the drivers seat rebuilt, and a seat adj motor gears stripped?), but I like the power this 5.9 delivers, not sure about the transmission and the AAM third member though! Both have issues that will need addressed sooner or later. All three are-were 2wd. I've done repairs on all, various from inj pumps to rear end/drive line, and had repairs done to all so if I can offer remedies/advice I am willing to share my knowledge/experiences, just ask. TomL

Welcome to the DTR. You're right about that era of truck having cheap plastic, but I think they got a lot better around '10 or so.

Hey guys, thanks for the welcomes.

Larry when I was in my 20-30's I must have been getting near 60 mpg!

Madhat, you are correct about the better interior but having to let go of my 5.9L keeps me from going up in years, the monthly payment probably factors in too!

That is a fact! I don't mind the 6.7, couple thousand bucks and it'll be perfect after you get all that emissions junk off it... but I don't want to deal with it for sure.

Thanks Sherod.

Say I'm not sure but is signature the tool to use so others can see my Rams/vehicles, past and present when I post or reply? I see the three you have yours listed under your reply to my threads. Thanks
