Hello, I've been creeping this site for years while waiting to find the perfect Ram CTD...Welp, my time has come, I found one last Wednesday, brought it home last night.

2006 3500 Quad Cab Laramie 4x4-stock except for wheels/tires and Diamond Eye 4" cat back exhaust (brand new). 190K miles. Truck was a daily driver, long highway commuter. Very good condition! No rust anywhere, frame and undercarriage look fantastic! Interior is spotless. Two scratches on the tail gate, one behind the rear bumper.

Picked it up with just under a 1/4 tank, reset the trip meter, drove it home 85 highway miles. GPS verified the speedometer was recalibrated to match the bigger wheels. Average MPG over 85 miles (cruise controlled 65) showed 24.6. still had 1/8 tank left when I got home. Been out driving all day, (I drive like a grandpa) and still getting 20 MPG according to the computer. We'll see how accurate that is when I fill up and hand calculate.

Seller put on the Diamond Eye exhaust, new rear rotors and pads, rear caliper, front U joint, wheel seal, resurfaced the front rotors and new front pads, new inspection, lube/oil/filter with Rotella T and Wix filter and new air filter. Only thing he forgot to do was a fuel filter.

This morning I dropped the hammer down merging onto I-81 and the power dropped off in the higher RPM range..felt fuel starved. CEL came on, I scanned it at Auto Zone and sure enough P01048 code. I picked up a fuel filter (all they had was Duralast, I already ordered some WIX filters) and a 1 1/8 socket, rushed home and changed the fuel filter which was pretty dark and cruddy. Auto Zone cleared the code so I was anxious to see if the fuel filter was the culprit...several full throttle runs and all seems well. Filled up with diesel, 30 gallons + (2) pints of SeaFoam and some Power Service treatment. Can't wait to run errands tomorrow. My poor 2000 VW Jetta TDI has not moved since Thursday.

Thanks for all the great information, great site!

Brian
