New to Cummins

hello everyone, I am the new guy from the cornfields of southern michigan. I have been a die hard Ford truck owner, but with a good career change that helped me discover the Cummins, and convincing my Ford driving wife we are now the proud owners of a 2008 2500 crew cab Dodge Ram. I am happy to be here and if anyone have a proven gas saving idea (helps keep the wife off my back) I would consider it a great favor. THANKS

welcome to the site..... lots of great information here. you can do a search on here for fuel milage and find lots of info on the subject. not to bust your chops but it is Cummins not "cummings".

Welcome aboard.... I too switched from a Ford PSD due to a LEMON LAW and wisely switched to the cummins club.

Welcome! I own my first diesel as well- I wouldn't have bought anything except a Cummins! Did my research first and listened to the advice! [roll]

Best way to save fuel? Drive less!!![laugh] Seriously- accelerate slowly, take your foot off the gas before you stop so you can coast, don't drive above 65mph. I'm getting 18-20 mpg in the mtns and averaged 16.5 (hand calculated) hauling a big load of hay. Can't complain about those numbers!! Tundras don't get any better!
