Hey from San Francisco
Hey from San Francisco
Hey people. This is my first post. Long time diesel burner, 1981 VW golf/rabbit 1.6, Opel Vectra diesel 1.7TD, Isuzu Trooper 2.8TD, Toyota land cruiser 4.0L, Ford F350 6.9 and in 2003 purchased a new Dodge 2500 with the 5.9. By far the best truck I ever owned and in 5 years and 140,000 miles no trouble bar 2 fuel pumps.
I'm in a delimma. I can get a new 07 for $34,000 and trade my own, thus a payment of $400/mth or not make any more payments and run free for a few years. What do you think I may be looking at spending on repairs as the truck heads towards 200K?

Welcome! I will tell you to go with what your gut says...I have no regrets buying the 2007 3500 6.7 CTD for under invoice! Either way you will spend the money some place...might as well be on the 2007. Just my "2 cents".
Welcome to the website! Glad to have you aboard.
I would say that if you don't get real radical with modifications to your engine that any troubles you have will be very limited with your 2003. There are alot of DTR Members here that are well over 200,000 and their trucks are still running very well.
One other thing I would add, is with this diesel fuel being as high as it is right now, the used car/truck market being somewhat
"depressed" that the dealers out here by us are not giving very good prices on trade-ins for the new trucks. I agree with what "bobbyr35" said, "go with what your gut says!" Good luck on whatever you decide to do.
