Another Ford conversion

Hey all,

My name is Andrew, I'm out of Burlington WA. I'm a die hard Ford man, but know a good diesel when I see one!

I can't give up my Ford but I'm growing tired of my V10. I've been researching a cummins swap for a little while now and I'm ready to make it happen! I've got a 2000 Ford Excursion and just picked up a '94 12v as my donor.

Seems this forum is a wealth of information so I figured I'd join and sit back and learn for awhile. I'm sure I'll have some questions, but I'm patient and fairly search savy, so hopfully you guys won't be answering the same old questions.

Welcome to the DTR!

Sounds like a pretty cool conversion.

You may or may not have problems with putting an older motor in a newer vehicle though...

I know where I'm from, it's a big .

Are the laws different where you are from?

Thanks for the warm welcome!

It's been slow going, I've got the front end off and the accessories off the V10. I've made mounts to run my Ford alternator and A/C compressor. Now I'm running out of things to do until I can get the Cummins set in there [waiting for my adapter and flex plate]

I don't have any inspections or emissions where I'm at

I'll be getting some pictures up soon. Not much to see yet as the V10's still sitting in there. But I starting building a 5" down pipe and 90 elbow out of some scrap I picked up from the local Freightliner shop.

And I'll get some pictures of the Ford accessories mounted onto the Cummins. Had to configure the tensioner a little out of the norm, but I don't see that it will be a problem.

Everything I know about the Cummins [which isn't much yet], I've learned by lurking here and soaking up all your knowledge!

If you see something you don't think is right let me know, I could ese all the help and constructive [or other] criticism you all have to offer

Been a long time since I've been on... Have about 20k on the 12 valve swap, and the Excursion is under the knife again.

This may not be the site for it, but you all were very helpful in getting me the information I needed to get a real diesel powering my truck, so I figured I'd pop back on and share some updates.

As I said, the Excursion went under the knife again as my imagination got the best of me. I'm going dually.

Been collecting parts for a couple years and finally got the missing piece of my puzzle. 11.00r16 Michelin XZL's.

It's not for everyone, but I'm a load fiberglass work, a paint job, and a transmission away from my perfect tow vehicle.

I'll get a few more pictures up later showing a little fiberglass progress and my new Buckstop bumper (buy one if you've been considering a winch bumper)

Let me know what you think, good or bad. I'm a big boy... I can handle it.
