Absolutely had to have my truck today so bit the bullet and went to Dodge. First the parts guy can't find what kind of truck I have. He asks is it a 24 valve or a turbo diesel? Is it just a regular diesel? I'm losing my patience quickly and finally I ask him just how many diesel engine options are they showing for an '02 3500. After ten minutes of this stuff he finally locates the part. Bear in mind this is a Dodge dealership, not Autozone.
Only it is $30 higher than it was yesterday. Now I blow my stack. The part that was bad enough yesterday at $504 is now $534, just 24 hours later. His only answer is maybe the computer updated it's price list overnite. There was a guy standing behind waiting through all this. He is a parts runner, and he said this dealership has the worst customer service in the county. At the same time, at the cashier window next to us a guy is demanding a manager. When one comes he wants to know why he is being overcharged for his service. He said this dealer is the only place he has ever had his car serviced since new, and he has never paid that much. The manager says he is wrong, that is what the price has always been. The guy tells him that the dealer has all the service records on his both his cars, go look up what he has been paying. When the manager left, the parts guy mumbles to me that he is giving it to me for $504. I paid up and got the hell out of there, and ain't never going back. On a positive note, installed the APPS and have my truck back on the road. |
