What's that smell?

7500 miles, everything going fine.

Took it in for service (oil change).

Now I have this very strange smell in the cab. Not exhaust, not burning oil, not fuel. It is similar to sulphur or a burning, oil-based product.

Any ideas?

I use Chevron Delo 400 and it stinks for a few miles about 50 or so.

Re:What's that smell?

Welcome to the wonderfull world of CTD ownership ! There is a bullitin from DC on this. The Mopar 15-40 oil is supposed to have had some kind of change made to it so that it is less offensive in the odor department. This complaint and the "my lights keep going dim in the morning after I start my truck" are the two most brought up things on these engines. (lights dim due to heater grids cycling in case you wondered)

Re:What's that smell?

I am not familiar with the '03 trucks, but you can usually solve this problem by relocating the blow-by or "puke" bottle which is mounted on the front of the motor. The bottle is replaced with a length of rubber tubing. Do a search on this site for "blow-by" or "puke bottle" and you will find out how to do it.
