truck wont turn off
truck wont turn off
when i turn the key off it will not shut off, i have to stall it by dumping the clutch. also just did the washer GSK mod. looked at the shut off solinoid and seems to be working.
any ideas?

Most times this caused by worn out starter contacts sticking. Replace them.
Beware if you let this go too long it will eventually burn up your expensive shutdown solenoid.

it starded doing it the same day i did the gov springs. first it would run for like 5 seconds then shut down then got progressivly worse untill it wont shut down at all. all guages go off and the shutdown soloniod moves all the way down.
For grins, unhook your fuel shut-off solenoid and lift it to start then manually shut it off. If it bucks around a bit then idles, pull a washer out of each side of the GSK, and then try again.
I am not sure which GSK kit you used, but if you install wrong sized do-it-yourself washers they can create enough inertia to drive the rack follower ahead of the fuel shutoff lever and keep one running. Not something you see every day.

I'm not sure how the newer shutoffs work but it seems to me that if it is unhooked and still starts then it must be bad. I assume that to get fuel flow the solenoid must be energized and if fuel still flows without it energized it must be bad or jambed -- dirt or something.
