Truck died

I was driving along, come to a stop and the ol' girl is just kind of sputtering like she's running on 2 cylinders. Shut down and didn't restart. will crank and hiccup a little. I disconnected the grid heaters and gave a little shot of ether and she ran on that. Cracked an injector and a trickle of fuel comes out. I'm hoping for a little advise. fuel to the filter & lift pump is running. Thanks

1693 with the key on/off. I don't have a code scanner. I'm gonna see if I can borrow one tomorrow.

1693 is a companion code, so you'll need to get a code reader to pull the other code(s) and find out what's going on.

Not sure if this will help, but according to the thread below, it sounds like you need a new injection pump.

Tell me about it! A buddy of mine lost his CP3 due to bad fuel, it also took out his injectors. Fortunately though, from what I found, your issue is due to the electronics.

From more research, some folks recommend replacing or upgrading the lift pump as well.
