trouble codes-NO START
could some tell me what codes 1693 and 0237 mean on my buddies 01 1ton 2wd 6speed? And could you give me the website to find all that on my own in the future?
Thanks Nick |

Howdy Nick,
0237 is a boost (MAP) sensor code. A lot of lists out there, but this is a pretty good one here. You can also go to: www.madselectronics.com. |
Charlie, any idea what would cause that? he does have a Dr. Performance 135 hp chip on it. I told him to take it off and reset the comp and see if it came back

Ok talkin to him on the phone now and he says he changed the fuel filter, which was filthy, due to a loss in power and followed standard procedure bumping the starter and all that jive and when he went to start it it won't start. He hasn't tried to crack and injector yet I don't think, but he plans on that in the morning. Any more ideas??

His box might have caused the boost code. Unhooking the box and erasing the code is a good idea.
I guess first he has to get it started, huh. Yes, cracking the injector would come next, if he is sure he don't have any leaks in the fittings he took loose. Can he here the LP running for 15/20 sec? Make sure he's not just turnning the key on, but "bumping" the starter. |
ok, left the batteries unhooked all night and the truck still won't start. He tried cracking an injector line and still no start. LP is running and canister is full of fuel. I assume he had fuel at the injector line when he cracked it, but didn't ask. He cracked the #1 injector line. Any new ideas?

I think most folks crack two or three injectors. He might try cracking the line going into the VP44 if he's still not getting anything to the injectors.
I hate to say it, but his VP44 may have gone to the happy hunting grounds. |
