hi
best thing is get a scaner and read the codes ? poast what you find . autozone and others do it for free ! list your truck , it will help otherss help you . show your general location and you may have someone near that can giv you a hand ![coffee] |
I have a scan gauge II. That should plug in? I'm gunna limp home from Tacoma to Seattle on Sunday morning about fifty miles. Bad idea????
|
Probablly bad ideal. Sounds like tranny has bit the provibal dust. Suggest drop pan and look for carnage. If magnet is size of cholocate Krispy Kreem donut with junk, I'm sorry.
If pan is clean, you may be lucky and live another day with output RPM sensor and solonoid on VB, good luck. May not find any codes, but good if do. |
Well made it home. pulled the pan looks ok. gunna see what Dave Goerend says.

Mine did this. $35 rear speed sensor. Took you longer to dropthe pan that it would have to change the sensor. It's a common issue.

So I thought that the kick down cable was out of adjustment. Dave said to check it.

Scan for codes, P176X relates to governor solenoid/pressure transducer, fairly common.
Second gear start is indicative of limp home mode in the tranny. |

Well if that was the case it would be stuck in 1st. Tranny is still able to shift from 2nd to 3rd witch means the sensor still works. Also found out when I put it in reverse(moving about 2 mph.) then drop the shifter into 1st it goes int first, then shifts up to 3rd fine. Still no 4th. |

SOURCE http://www.dtcsearch.com/?gclid=COWp...FRs-awod5yh22w Type Powertrain - Transmission - ISO/SAE Controlled Description 3-4 Shift Solenoid, Transmission Relay Conditions Cause Engine running, then the PCM detected a shorted or open condition in the 3-4 Shift Solenoid or its control circuit here is what I did. I called Dave Goerend he ran me through a bunch of tests and found the problem. he had me check the codes with my scan gauge http://www.scangauge.com/ it showed me a P0753. Dave had me test the relay, it worked. We tested the wires to the solenoids and found that one of the sloenoids was bad for the upshift for 3 to4. well ill be fixing that tomorow. http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/b...image002-5.gif http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/b...image002-6.gif http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/b...image002-4.gif http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/b...image002-7.gif |
