Ok so I bought an 01 Dodge Ram 2500 24v 180,000 miles auto 4x4 I've had problems all over with this thing but recent is the trans. I go off to Wyotech on 9/22/17 so I need this fixed quick. The trans when I go from park to r or d stalls the truck I tried everything aluminum foil to isolate the alternater grounds and I even unplugged the harness for the trans and it still stalls. Plugged it back it cleared codes nothing unplugged of solinoid from the top of the trans still stalls like a manual if you don't push in the clutch goes through every gear and hits od every time it has a jasper trans and new tcase I just did injection pump and a fass150 new turbo because it was blown and other little stuff with no electronics going to the trans it stalls no matter what and if it does get going it lugs coming to a stop and feels like it could stall any moment after I take off there absolutely no power until it downshifts need help please 302-507-5590 incase your writhing delaware

Just for grins and giggles:

Try to go to drive and reverse with the transfer case in neutral.
If it does not stall I would guess either a stuck TC lockup clutch or some wrecked internals in the TC.

If it does stall it looks like a hydraulic problem that engages 2 gears at the same time, but ... basically the TC should still not make the engine stall.

If you put the transmission into 1st gear when coming to a stop does it still try to stall?
