I have a 2001 dodge 3/4 ton after long trips the sensor goes out in the city when I take off at a stop light. Engine still idels but gas peddle does not work. Need help

 

i've taken it apart and cleaned real good and they have worked for awhile but you might as well save your $$ and get a new one asap. you can sometimes turn the truck on and off and it will start working sometimes

 

Sometime's you can reset them by disconnecting the batteries. But Rich is right,,,you'll soon be buying a new one.

 

Where is the best place to buy one? APPS switch.

 

Depending on the year,,,you can get the older one's at O'Rielly's,Autozone, and any part's store. They are less than $100 I believe. The newer 3rd gen's are dealer only and cost $500.

 

I can't believe that there is no aftermarket tps switches available. The 680.00 price tag that Dodge wants is unreal, as seeing the bracket shouldn't have to be bought also. Someone makes the sensor for the company all we need to find out is who.
