Starting
I have an 06 Big Horn with 14,000 miles. Just bought it last week.
I just noticed the "Wait to start" sign is not coming on in the instrument panel. If I wait about 7 seconds to start the truck it just cranks and doesn't start. I have to turn it off, wait about 30 seconds, and then not let it sit more than 3 seconds with the key pre-engaged before starting. Any ideas or is this a common problem? I have an appointment Thursday to take it into the dealer. Thank goodness for Warranty!! |
The lift pump will only cycle on for 3 seconds when the key is first turned to "on"
Does it start OK if you turn the key to "start" right away? |
I haven't tried starting right away because I always thought that was hard on diesels? This is my first one. I know with my buddy's FORD he lets the glow plugs warm for almost a minute before turning it over.
