South Bend Clutch hydraulics ???

i installed a new clutch last weekend and im thinking i need more travel for it. my South Bend Clutch upgraded hydraulics have a black plastic facing on the SBC slave cylinder that sits against the bellhousing, can this be removed for an additional ~1/8" of travel???

looks like i could remove it. anybody do this? is that why its on there? for additional adjustment? i dont think id hurt anything if i removed it...

any opinions??

I didn't notice that on the SBC I installed on my 06 but then again I just adjusted the travel I needed under the dash at the master cylinder.

Since you have the DD clutch have you thought about taking the button off the end of the push rod and having a longer one made? You might have to have something custom made for that app. When SBC opens in the AM I'd call them and see what they say first as they can be extremely helpful. At least they were when I needed help on a clutch from them I installed in one of my trucks.
