SLIPPING IN 3rd
 

Trans started slipping in 3rd gear. Any Ideas?????

first thing is to check fluid level and color and smell .

did you fill it with atf+4 ?

scan for codes ?

Doing all that today. It was late last night when it started. I used atf4 in it yes but not the same brand as what I was using in it. I had an issue with a broken spring that Dave G. fixed for me sense it is his valve body and converter that was about 2k ago. Its kinda falling into 3rd gear feeling. If you let off and let it shift its fine thats what gots me stumped.....

On phone with dave and guess i got a seal leaking inside trans.....

front piston seal:

Guess that means i gonna have to pull this thing out. This sucks.....
