Quad Commander Help

I for the life of me can't find the one that it shows in the Commander pictures. Anyone have a pic of it on their truck so I can see it from a diff. angle?

Also, which wire do I tap into on the ECT? I don't have a voltmeter to check which one.

~~Help~~

Answers like that don't really help anyone do they?!

That would be easy if I could just type in map sensor & find 20 pages talking about it, but no pics. I finally found it - it had some silicone (or some sealant) around the plug that was holding the pink wire behind the blue wire so I couldn't see that it had 4 wires. That's why I was so confused.

I read the directions over & over. I think that you need to have a module to be able to use those other two wires. If I'm somebody please correct me & I will go hook the other two up. The Commander powered right up & seems to be working.

It wasn't an answer
I asked a simple question to find out what you'd already done to address your problem; searching the threads is merely a matter of typing in the appropriate keywords and scanning for the highlighted text.
Quad has replied to installation/wiring questions before, so the historical threads should provide a ready-made reference to someone who needs help.

Replies like yours won't make too many around here want to assist you in the future.

Man, I just asked a question. Of course I did a search - I've been around here enough to know that. I typed in everything that was applicable but I kept getting 20 pages of mumbo jumbo. This is the fastest way to get an answer. That's why it was posted in the urgent section. If you don' twant to help - don't. But don't bash people for trying to get some help when they need it.

If you'd already searched the threads, it would have been a simple matter for you to say "yes", without bashing my question.

The fastest way to GIVE an answer is to find out what the supplicant already knows, then build on that.
I pay attention to the HELP threads because I'm able to assist people in real time - you should've been around here enough to know that!

We don't care if you listen to us or not; out of kindness I was attempting to point out to you that you'll get a lot further with a carrot than a stick. Why would anyone want to help you when they see that you're likely to bash them if they don't post what you want to hear?

Your latest missive begins "Man, I just asked a question."
- I'm glad to hear that you echo my sentiments exactly...

I apoligize if you think I'm bashing you. I just needed some help. I got back a reply faster than I would have if I scrolled through the 20 pages that I got via the search - only a few minutes. That being said, thanks for being around here as you are a help to many on here. The problem is now resolved, so I will end it at that. I do hope that you are not angry at me as I was only trying to find a fast resolution because I couldn't stop what I was doing.

Since when does putting a module in a truck belong in a forum for emergency situation with your truck, or you need immediate technical help, use this board?

Be glad someone tried to help you at all.

Because I have wires laying all over my motor which made my truck inoperable until they were installed. I don't know anything whatsoever about automotive stuff. That's why I'm here. I did a search & came up w/ 20 pages of stuff that talked about the map sensor, but I couldn't find the sensor from their descriptions because one of the four wires was hiding behind the other three wires, thus the 4-wire map sensor was MIA. That's why I asked for a picture. Did anyone post a picture in those 20 pages???

"Be glad someone tried to help you at all." - I am & that's why I acknowledged my appreciation in my last post. But in this case, it didn't really provide any assistance. I am a viaual person, so I needed some additional guidance & a more descriptive approach.

The best single thing anyone can do, if they EVER plan to lift a wrench on their ride, is invest in a factory repair/tech manual - it will absolutely pay for itself many times over! Makes everything easier, unless you can't read...
