P0606 Internal ECM Processor
P0606 Internal ECM Processor
Was at dealer this morning getting some minor repairs when tech told me my ECM needed to be replaced. I have the TST powermax on my truck and they told me NO warranty. They also said I could try unhooking my TST & see if the code went away. My ? is has anyone had this happen, does the TST cause this problem or should I just run my truck as is ?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

With a box on it I wouldn't expect warranty coverage. Have you tried getting ahlod of TST and see what they say? Either call TST or try the dealers' suggestion and go from there. Sorry I can't really be of much assistance though.

First thing I'd want to know is what makes the dealer think that the ECM is dead. ECM's don't normally die. I've only heard of maybe one. Secondly, I'd want a second opinion. Thirdly, if it is dead, might as well get a MAD ECM.
The diag for that code takes up about two inches in the diag book....
Is the DTC specific good trip equal to zero for p0606?
Yes, replace ECM
No, test complete
If you haven't had any drivability probs I would have the code cleared and drive it. That's the problem with these add on toys. They can introduce a whole new batch of "troubles" with no real way to diag.

That is a common code and there is nothing wrong with your ecm. I've had 3 different boxes throw that code on my truck. Cleared them myself and the truck has been flawless for 67,000 miles. Don't sweat it. Search the forums and you'll find a TON of references to this code and not one replaced ecm that I can find.
