P0234 - Engine Overboost Condition ?
Can someone explain what this means cant find a description anywhere. Thanks

The over boost code will be thrown if the turbo boost exceeds ECM parameters. If you raise the boost with a boost fitting installed at the turbo without a fueling box connected or without a boost fooler, then a code can be set. It could also be a bad map sensor.

Thanks, last thing I need ot get done then she will be a perfect babe once again.

If you are not the original owner of the truck, you might want to check to see if it has the boost fitting or a waste gate mod. A previous owner might have removed a fueling box without returning the boost to stock levels.

A boost fitting is a restrictive orifice used to delay the opening of the wastegate to raise turbo boost.

This truck is bone stock. I am one owner. Thanks

I've also ran into a turbo that the waste gate actuator rod was stuck up against the aluminum mount where the actuator mounts to. This truck would only set the overboost code a few times a year and had done this with the customer since new. It seemed to set especially if he was climbing a grade and put the pedal to the metal. We tried a new map sensor a few months back with no positive results. Recently DC shipped the dealers a tool that attaches to the inlet of the turbo and allows the tech to charge the air inlet system with compressed air. I used the tool and after running the air from 10 to 28 a few times I noted the waste gate wouldn't open about half the time. Removed the turbo and found the interference. The tool also works great for testing all the air inlet rubber boots. I've found quite a few that start leaking with only 10-15 psi applied.

Could be as simple as dirty connector at the MAP sensor.

It was the IAT Sensor. As soon as I unplugged it the truck runs perfect, better than ever. ? I will replace the sensor when I can affordit. Right now it's staying unplugged.
