P0192
 

Hey yall truck in sig. I have had a Edge Hot Juice or w/e unlock'd on the truck for a while and the other day i put on a Quadzilla Rail Pressure Gauge and now my truck is tryin to die and running real rough and throwing a P0192 code i have unplugged the rail pressure and it stop for a couple mins and now the check engine light is back and its doing the same as it was. What could it be? I fixin to take the Edge box completely off and see what happens. \

But it says Fuel rail pressure sensor voltage too low.

Rail Pressure code is P0191, Fuel Pressure is P0192

P0192 "Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Voltage Too Low

I dont see anything other than that coming up for that code

The computer fault codes located in the Articles link shows that the
P0191 code is Rail Pressure and the P0192 as the Fuel Pressure Sensor Voltage too low. I'm just going off of the link posted in the Articles sectionv says

Both codes relate to the fuel pressure sensor seeing low pressure-pos inj,overflow valve,lp,del tube torque,plugged ff etc.Try removing the edge box first & you can ck the overflow valve by loosening the the fitting on top & watching for fuel to leak out(at idle only)-there should be no return flow.

ok so check that and if there is over flow then what?

Then you need a new fuel rail

and what if it doesnt then what does it mean

The other possible items (other than del tube torque & lp pressure)will require some special tools & diag scanner to figure out

If your pressure relief valve is leaking fuel by that doesn't mean that you need a new rail it just means that you need to replace that valve itself, which the last time I did one on a customer pay ticket at my dealership (last week) it was $500 dollars. Also if you are going to check and see if it is good the actual instructions for testing are to unplug your FCA or at the dealership we can use our scan tools to override the control and then you let it run for 10 seconds, after that if you have any fuel coming out of the pressure relief valve you need to replace it. What i have seen is that on the codes pertaining to rail pressure sensor voltage such as this one does its not your relief valve it is the sensor itself. Unfortunately i have seen this problem come into the dealership many times and the usual cause for it was an after market chip such as the Quadzilla causes this problem. I'm not singling out their products because there are others that do the same thing, so please don't think that I'm bad mouthing them. As far as rail pressure sensors are concerned they either work or not or sometimes the intermittently go in and out depending on a lot of different factors such as temp and anything else that effects the current through the wiring. Unfortunately if you do have to come out of pocket for one at a dealership parts counter unless you have the hook up you will be paying between $550- $650 depending on that particular dealerships mark up. I believe our price for customer pay comes to a grand total of $608 and some change. The good news is that if you are still covered by your 100,000 mile Cummins engine warranty then all you should have to pay is the $100 deductible and you will be good. Now depending on the dealership you take it to you might want to remove you chips and/or programmer so they dont throw a fit and say no warranty. Hope this helps any of yall out. Oh yeah, one other thing is that your lift pump test is unhook it from the back of the fuel bowl (or pull your filter and unhook from injection pump, but put the top back on filter bowl) and activate your lift pump. To do this you want to turn the key on which should activate it for 10 seconds, then dump out any fuel in your measuring device, next bump your key and the should allow your lift pump to run for 30 seconds or more. Here is the deal if only let it run for [B][I][U]30 SECONDS THEN SHUT OFF!!![U][I][B] You should have A MINIMUM OF 450mL OF FUEL in your measuring device, oh yeah if you havent figured it out yet you need a measuring device at least that size. Preferably a graduated cylinder that measures in 5mL increments from 0-1000mL. Any further questions please dont hesitate to ask in a PM.

Yep just had my truck in last week for this same thing. They had to replace the fuel preasure sensor. It tested bad. Not sure were this thing is located at but would like to know.
Not sure I understand how a modual would be the cause of a failer. Yes I do have a Quad. Mod. on.
My truck just up and wouldn't stay running 5 minutes after I started it and there you have.
