I repaired the vacuum actuator on my front axle. Pulled the truck out of my shop to test the actuator by driving the truck up a steep hill next to my shop it worked well. tried backing down then the tranny would not work in reverse. Tried it in both 4 wheel and 2 wheel drive both high and low range. It works fine going forward. Just no reverse. I did drop the pan and found one of the magnets magnetized to one of the solenoids or should I say a partial magnet.

The fluid looked fine. I know the tps acts up about once a year then I replace it. This past week the light on the OD/off button quit working. It goes in and out of Od but the light does not come on. Please tell me it is some sort of cheesey electrical issue as I have to take my little girl hunting.

 

Do you have any engine braking when you manually pull the lever into low while decelerating?
