no low end thrust
1993 cummins, auto,,,tryed to back my 7000lb RV up my driveway and the truck would not push it from a dead stop, had to take a short run,had the peddle to the floor ,just no thrust, next was the boat,1500lb,truck would not push it then just died,i had to loosen off an injector to get er running again, truck seems slow and non responsive on hills off the start, and takes a while to wind up,,good on the higher end slow on the start and when its cold,,,,better when it warms up, any thoughts, thanks.
Hi, first you need to tell us what your truck has on it, engine modifications, is it stock etc. ? this could be anything from plugged fuel filter or maybe even the need for a transmission overhaul. we need more to go on.
Your truck does not have a waste gate.
A couple things to check - check the throttle travel. The throttle lever on the injection pump should hit the high speed stop when the accelerator is pushed to the floor. If it does not, adjust/repair to make it so.
Also check for any signs of leaks on the fuel supply lines, the lift pump, and the fuel filter.
