??? New to the board - it has tons of great information.<br><br>I Need a new muffler, the tailpipe rotted off and I tried to squeak by and just replace the tailpipe, but the rear flange on the muffler is now no longer there and it has to be changed! <br><br>Anyone have any ideas on a good aftermarket replacement??<br>Your thoughts and ideas are appreciated.<br><br>Thanks,<br><br>Mike<br><br><br ><br>

 

Mike, if you don't already know, you live near one of the finest diesel shops on the east coast. Mass Diesel in Norfolk sells DTT transmissions, and exhaust systems, and do great work. I recently installed one on my truck. It's a 4&quot; system that's reasonably mild manner until you put your foot in it. Then it sounds like a &quot;3 axle gravel truck&quot; as my son recently described it while driving along side of me. 8) If I were you, I'd do a turbo back system replacing all of the old pipe as it sounds like it might be due.<br><br>Tom

 

Thanks for the info Tom! I was not aware of Mass Diesel. Just one more question... I notice that most of the aftermarket kits do not have resonators, is this ok for a stock truck?? I do not yet have any gauges and would I have to watch EGT's??<br>I have a pretty limited budget right now (looking for a house and have a baby on the way! ) so I can't spend a boat load of $$.<br><br>Thanks,<br><br>Mike<br>

 

You'll be fine w/out the resonator. I also have the DTT 4&quot; exhaust on my truck, it's a very nice setup! <br><br>If your not towing heavy, you won't have to worry about EGTs.... and if you throw on that 4&quot;, it will help lower them some anyhow... ;D <br><br>Tony
