Lost all but 1st Gear (auto tranny)
I only have 110k on the truck and absolutely NEVER had any tranny problems what so ever. All was fine today when I drove the truck, came home, parked it. About 9 hours later I went out and started it, let it idle for about 3 to 5 min and then started to leave. 1st felt very normal and strong, but it was duing the shift to 2nd that well..... I didn't have any. I took my foot off the gas and turned off the od (just in case) and still no 2nd, tried shifting to 2nd and nothing. I slowly cruised around the block and parked it and turned it off. Started it up after a couple min and that's when the CHECK ENGINE light came on - and still no 2nd. It's too dark to see anything (underhood light never worked) so I'll have to take a look tomorrow - at what I don't know (besides the fluid). Any idea's on what it might be so I can relate that to the Service Dept on monday????

Hmmmmm...
Possibly.....
I did some testing earlier, first I checked the fluid - a little brownish - guess it needs changing kinda bad. As for the testing I held my foot on the break while I tried all the gears and also tried them all in 4w High - no problems what so ever. I even braved it by putting it in straight 2nd and slamming the pedal to the floor - now I got 2 nice black marks in front of my house where the wheels spun .... one on the side walk and one where the tire litterally chewed up the street!
I am taking it to the dealer on Monday though, appreciate the info ramduck, I'll pass that along to them.

Yes I have all the gears - I don't know what the error code is as it didn't display it. This truck is a little weird at times, if the window washer bottle is low - low enough for the warning light to come on, I get weird codes that don't even have anything to do with the washer bottle and I end up with other problems like no guages or something like that, but once I fill the bottle, all is fine.. Go figure....

Hey ramduck - you hit it right on the head - it was the speed sensor. Had that and the tranny fluid changed at the same time - BIG Difference.
When I drove the truck to the dealer yesterday I found that I had to manually shift gears (1st, 2nd, Drive) - wish my old 4 speed was that easy! LOL
Oh, one other thing, the Speed Sensor out here in Cali (at least at my dealer) is $40.. eh, no biggie
