I'm in need of the expertise on this forum. My son is a couple of hundred miles from home with a trailer full of freight and truck that has no power. The problem seems to show up only when pulling a load. Last night, he had her up to 90 mph in a little duel with a rice burner pulling an empty trailer. Today, called to tell me the truck would only do about 35 mph. We've had the same symptom before, reline power, then its like someone hit a kill switch. Immediate loss of power, rpm, boost. We thought the boost elbow might be causing the ecm to defuel so before he left yesterday, we installed a BD Boost Fooler. Obviously, the ecm is not seeing high boost and defueling. The fuel filter was changed about 2500 miles ago. Fuel pressures look OK to me; 12-13 idle, 6-7 at WOT. I know the first question will be codes. He is trying to find an open parts house on the road and get me the codes.
He is supposed to leave for Lawton OK with a load tomorrow. Any body have any ideas?
