injector tool???

Still messing with the second leaky injector. Is there a tool to make tightening it easier?

Will a crowfoot wrench work? I can't get a regular 15/16 on it, so I heated one with a bend, but I didn't get the angle right. I'm going to put more angle on it tommorrow, but it sure would be nice if someone could tell me if the crowfoot would work so I don't go out and spend ten bucks on one for nothing.

Thanks.

There are two different varieties of injectors used in the cummins produced for Dodge in the 94-98 model years. The earlier version uses an open end wrench on the large lower nut, and a smaller wrench such as a crecent on the upper flats. The newer version uses a single deep socket.

I would suggest you pick up a copy of Haynes Manual #30041 for less than $20, and read the injector section before you begin work. You will need new copper washers, and non-glass bead type anti-seize compound before you pull the injector to fix the leak. If you use the wrong anti-seize compound it will eat out the threads from combustion vibration in less than 10,000 miles and your injector will never quit leaking, and that will put you up the proverbial creek without a paddle.
