help with o.d. sensor replace/ valve body removal

I have just replaced the governor solenoid and sensor and i also have the overdrive replaced. Do i need to drop the valve body to connect the end and if so what do i need to look out for? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

valve body removal

The truck is an 2007 3500 5.9l with the 48re trans. thanks for the help!
