HELP!!! Friends PS is vomiting fuel

Hey guys. Long story short here:
I have a friend that bought a 1989 or 1990 Ford f250 with a 97 PS in it.
He's had battery and alt issues already so he's starting to get fed up.
He went to start it today and it started fine, looks at the mirror and the fuel fill in the front tank is vomiting fuel.
He switched to the second tank real quick and the truck smokes a lil, then dies.

Whats his issue? I just learned maybe the injectors are not in all the way?
How can i get to the injectors and what size tools will i need?

Any help will be appreciated.
Mike

Does it puke out with the fuel cap on or off or both? Make sure the cap is vented. Is the fuel dark in color or is it normal? The Powerstroke returns a lot more fuel than the idi that was in the truck so venting is critical. The fuel transfer valves love to fail on those trucks.

Try to find out if the previous owner had similar problems. I will check back and tomorrow and help you get him straightened out.

Sounds like the tank selector valve is fouled up. It's drawing from the rear tank and returning to front tank.
