harmonic balancer coming apart
 
it looks like the rubber is coming out of my balancer.there is a piece hanging out and its wobbling all over the place.does anyone know what years interchange.aftermarket has one for 60 and it says it fits 94-03.dealer says his fits 98-02 and that one is 277.thanks for any help

Best bet is to call Cummins with the number from your engine data plate

yup it happens.....I got a used one here no rubber out,,111,000 miles on it. N.R.O.R.

ordered one from a salvage yard today for 65 . i never replaced one on a cummins .is there anything special about replacing them.

Nope, four bolts. No puller needed.

May need a piece of sandpaper or emory cloth, if there is some rust on the shaft. I had to clean mine off for it to come off. Just don't drop it on your head. ;)

I left 2 bolts threaded in part way. Walked it loose with a pair of short prybars. Wasn't bad at all, once the rust was cleaned up.
