Fan Speed Sensor

Fan Speed Sensor
Does anyone know what the fan speed sensor on an '05 Ram 7.3 controls other than the speed of the fan?
Oh ya and this is the code that was pulled: P0483 Cooling Fan Speed. Ram won't start. Don't think it's getting any diesel.

This is why I don't want the newer trucks and cars , way too many useless dohicky's, now for some help, you should go to user cp and fill in the info about your truck then its easyer to help , I'm not sure about all the opptions on all the yrs. but 7.3 does'nt sound right, is that a V10 gasser or a new Ram thats got a powerstroke ? Since its a sensor is does not control anything directly thats what the computor by using info from sensors and matching that with its program then using accuators to control function. If this is an '05 then it should be under warrenty and the dealer should take care of it , I think including the tow, but call 1st. that could be the easyest fix. but more info .

I don't know much cause it's not my truck.....just getting help for buddies at shop. It's an '05 Ram Diesel 7.3 Turbo Diesel. This is it here. '05 Ram
I think it has Bullydog something, propane injection and some other stuff. They say they narrowed it down to getting no fuel. And the truck was brought to the dealer and can only pull the P0483 Cooling Fan Speed error code.
