Drive Shaft Problems

I've got a 98' 2500 SB. Just picked it up used. There was major slop in all of the u-joints, so I spent last weekend replacing them all. Small problem; after replacing the joints at the rear and front diff's, there is still play in the part of the joint connected to the yoke going in to each diff. Is it even possible that these would wear out? I have a nice snug fit where the joint sits in each drive shaft.

Do you mean the yoke connected to the diff? The one held on with a large nut?

I just got done with a similar problem. Mine was at the rear u-joint only. Ended up with the wrong or poorly machined strap/clamps to hold the u-joint into the saddle of the pinion yoke. I put the old straps back on until I can get some new ones. When I first put it back together it seemed tight but after a short drive (and two pulls) it was loose. Maybe try your old straps or get different ones.
