Dang Gauges

WELL I INSTALLED MY GAUGES THIS WEEKEND AND EVERYTHING WENT FINE BUT LAST NIGHT I WENT TO DRIVE IT AND NOW I HAVE 2 PROBLEMS ONE I BLEW THE ILLUMINATION FUSE (5A) AND NOW I HAVE THIS BUZZ COMING FROM ONE OF MY GAUGES AND IT IS EITHER COMING FROM MY BOOST GAUGE OR FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE BOTH MANUEL. WITH DIESEL GOING ALL THE WAY TO THE GAUGE. BUT THE BOOST GAUGE WHEN I INSTALLED IT HAD A LITTLE BRASS WASHER IN THE BOX AND I HAD NO IDEA WHAT IT WENT TO SO I INSTALLED IT ANYWAY AND NOW I HAVE THE SOUND. IT IS REALLY LOUD AT IDLE AND WHEN I GET ON THE PEDAL BUT CALMS DOWN AS SOON AS I GET OFF THE PEDAL. AND THE BOOST GAUGE ONLY READS BOOST WHEN I REALLY GET ON IT BUT THEN IT READS 16 PSI EVERYWHERE ELSE IT READS 0 PSI. AS FOR THE FUSE I JUST SWAPPED IT WITH A 10A AND I JUST WANTED TO ASK YOU GUYS IF THAT WOULD BE AN ISSUE FOR THAT CIRCUIT. AND ANY HELP AT ALL ABOUT THE NOISE WOULD REALLY HELP. THANKS

don't ever change the fuse in a vehicle of any kind with one of a higher rating to cure a fuse blowing problem. the fuse is there to protect the wiring. the harness you are most likely melting down could cost big bucks to replace. get that 10A fuse out of there and find the problem causing the 5A to blow.

More than likely, that buzzing noise is coming from your fuel pressure gauge. This is very common. Mine didn't do it for 6 weeks, then all of a sudden, its loud and annoying. You can buy a needle valve (1/8" i think) and install it somewhere in line between the gauge and other end. I went looking for one today, but Lowe's and Home Depot didn't have the correct size. I'm gonna have to wait til Monday to get mine at a local plumbing store.

Once you install one, you're gonna have to tweek the valve some to get the desired readings.

Good luck,
Hunter

YEAH THATS WHAT I THOUGHT ABOUT THE FUSE I THINK ITS BECUASE I PUT THE GAUGE WIRING IN PARREL TO EACH OTHER THERE FOR LOWERING THE CIRCUITS OVERALL RESISTANCE AND IN TURN UPING THE AMPS. I GOTTA FIND A WAY TO FIX IT. DID YOU GUYS DO ALL YOUR GAUGES INDIVIDUALLY OR IN PARRALEL LIKE I DID THANKS FOR THE HELP

WELL I JUST WENT AND PLAYED WITH THE VALVE ON MY FUEL PRESSURE GUAGE BUT THE SOUND STAYED THE SAME I AM AT A LOSE

I would listen to duner. I replaced a fuse in a 3 month old Montana with a bigger one because it kept blowing and I melted the all of the wiring in the van. Dealer wasn't sure if they would cover it under warranty (they did) and said the bill for parts and labor would have been about $6000.00 if they didn't. I won't do that again!!

i got the right fuse in there now i only drove it like that for about an hour and then i got it replaced. and i checked with the new fuse everything checks good but still that dam noise

I think mine are in paralell. One wire, going into a three way connector. If I remember what I learned in my circuits class. (Can't believe I just used something I learned in school!! )

I have no problems with my guages for 6 months now, except one is dimmer than the other, could be the bulb or cover, or the wiring, but is just a PITA.
