ok for the last week when i turn my TST on above level 3 my truck makes a wicked sound. only does it above 40psi. level 2 and 1 only run 38psi. ok its definetly coming from the passenger side and when it does it, it sounds like a bearing going out i guess thats the best way to put it. its kinda like a ticking/squeling sound. almost like a alternator going out but if it was that, it would do it all the time. people have said it sounds like a boost leak but i have never heard a boost leak sound like this plus my boost is not down any. i have no freakin clue as to what it could be. the thing thats killing me is it does it 9 out of 10 times but that one time it dosent do it. . any ideas?

 

It sounds like a boost leak or possibly an exhaust leak before the turbo.

 

Hmmm... sounds like a bearing going out, passenger side, only when turbo is loaded.... How much slack does your turbo's impeller have?

 

found it, i guess it is a boost leak. i found a MASSIVE leak on my intercooler. hope thats it. just put a new turbo on and it does it just the same so i no its not the turbo. has to be the leak but i have never heard a boost leak sound like metal scratching.
