My 97 has a code 12 when I cycle the key on/off. Anybody know what it means?

A code 12 means that there are no trouble codes present.

 

It does the code 12 first then code 55. I thought 55 ment there were no codes?

 

i maybe mistaken but 55 means end of sequence i think.

 

i believe code 12 is 'battery recently disconnected'... if i remember correctly, it will be reset after several (around 30 i think) restarts.

 

Ok I got a manual and code 12 = battery disconnected within the las 30 starts. Should clear in 30 starts, but I've had the truck since the end of September and have put 1,000 miles on it. I know I've started it more than 30 times. Any ideas?
