can't crack fuel lines!
So this is my first post, I wish that it was a happy one. I ran my 2001 out of fuel and now after priming and bleeding air up to the inj pump I am unable to crack the lines from the injectors. I put a line wrench on them with a cheater and almost broke the wrench.It seems that someone tightened them way too much.Anyone have any idea on how to loosen these without cutting the fuel line and putting an impact on because this may be the only way? A buddy suggested putting some heat on the head around the fitting but that makes me a little nervous,I need this truck back on the road and don't really want to tow it to a garage.
I know this sounds stupid, but, righty tighty lefty loosie......correct?
The problem with the situation you are in is the con tubes could be all scarred up to the point you may not get them sealed back up.
I would use a top quality flarenut wrench and load it up and smack it with a hammer.

Yep, I have always used a 19mm flarenut wrench when doing injectors.
I had someone put my first set of sticks in and evidently they put #1 back very tight. When I swapped my VP I had one heck of a time getting #1 loose to bleed the line, but the flarenut wrench and a little bit of persuasion and everything worked out just fine.

Kroil??? Orange can right? I love that stuff. The problem is, the place I used to buy it from went outa business and neither my dad nor me can find it anywhere. Please tell me where you get it. Did you find it online? Or somewhere locally? Maybe you could check out the can for a web site or something.

Why ruin a good boxed wrench? Besides look at a boxed wrench; the forging or casting is thin all the way around. It gets it strenght from being completely enclosed. So cutting a slot would weaken it. Now look at an open end wrench. The jaws are a lot thicker. Its strenght relys on both seperate sides of the opening. Just use a good flare wrench. It will be many times stronger then a "cut open" boxed wrench.

You may be able to get some for free at a local (small) airport if you can find a maintenance hangar (FBO). Just ask to talk to a mechanic and see if they have some. Just a dab will do ya.. Another thing to try would be to run the engine to temperature and then try to cool the injector rapidly with some type of aerosol or maybe some refrigerant (not Freon). This may work to shrink the injector just enough to loosen the threads a bit.GL
