broken front caliper nipple
 

Like the title says, I need help! The nipple was rusty and it sheered off clean leaving the threaded part inside. I'm sure it won't leak, but I can not bleed it now or ever.

Do I need to replace caliper or can i try to replace the nipple, if I can even get it out?

Any suggestions on how to take the broken nipple out?

Please help need the truck for work and can not have it sitting.

Uh, tough to say. Try drilling and using an ease out. Can't promise that the shavings will stay out of the piston area but worth a shot.

If you drill, find a left handed drill bit. You gotta look, but they are out there. Use it at a very slow speed and most of the time it will grab and unscrew it for you. I used to maintain some very expensive machinery and when a bolt broke I did this and very rarely did one not work like this.

Haven't seen the left handed drill bit before. Will have to see if I can find one. Thanks.

As far as an easy out, can I use a flat head screw driver in to the drilled out thread for an easy out?

If the bleeder was wedged hard enough to shear, the odds of a screwdriver getting it aren't that great. PB Blaster or similar with a lefty drill bit has fair odds. On the shavings, coat the drill bit in grease, and if possible take the flex line off and put positive air pressure against it to expel shavings.

An easy out might work if the caliper is soaked in Blaster. Never had much luck with them.
