borgeson steering shaft install help

shaft is disconnected at both ends-(steering box and inside cab, by firewall). the problem i can't figure out is how to get the shaft out through the firewall!! i don't see a set screw on the oem rag joint to take it of, so just the shaft passes through the rubber grommet. i tried to remove the big rubber grommet, but that did not work-does not look like it can be taken out and put back in. any suggestions??

Call your vendor,I have seen others having problems with their 3rd gen stuff, including the splines not being correct at the gear box

extended length is 30 inches-that is the correct length for the 950 model for my truck- but it is a good two inches too short! i do not understand this!
