Unhappy ball joints ready to go???

When I said run-into-the-ground, I meant 600k miles worth on this chassis. Motor supposedly less the 200k.

So...since I've read about this truck falling apart around the cummins, I'm wondering what I need to look for in the suspension.

It seems to run pretty straight and I don't feel anything unusual or any knocking/banging while cornering, but that's the extent of my suspension/steering/ball joint experience.

Anyone care to point me in the right direction before a wheel falls off?

Hum, where do we start. First I would jack up each side and and grab the top of the wheel and try to rock it back and forth, also side to side. It would help to have someone look to see whats loose if anything, bearings or suspension parts. it might be easy if you know a GOOD front end shop to do this. using a pry bar type device will aid in checking ball joints tie rods etc. Idler arm is a good one to check also. Im assuming its a 2wd eh?steering box bolt torque etc. I just read here where someones lower control arm cracked at the ball joint and it came apart on him luckily while barely moving. Thats a new one on me though.
