Question Backdrain valve

I just had my trans serviced, and had the back drain valve removed. Is this the right thing to do? My buddy had his stick after a service and wasted the trans. Mine is a 99', his was an 01'.

As long as you are aware of the "inconvenience" of knowing your trans may not move until the fluid flow is initiated by letting it idle in N for a bit you shouldn't hurt anything that I'm aware of. Maybe someone here will tell you differently. I removed the check valve in my 95 and didn't have any probs.

You can go a step further and get a trans-go shift kit and it will have instructions on where to drill a hole so the tranny does pump fluid in Park.
