AX. Fuel pump

I was in a bind the other day. The holly blue pusher pump was going out and I had to in south TX that afternoon. I was not able to get another holly so I settled for a Carter.
The one that I got puts out 100GPH @ 15 PSI. It seems to work well for now (about 20 PSI at 70MPH) but I am concerned about when I have to pull a trailer and will need extra fuel will this pump be sufficient?

Thanks

Steady speed uses the least amount of fuel.

Hard acceleration with a load is the test...That is when the motor is using the most fuel and will pull pump pressure down as it uses more volume.

To get an idea about how the pump is keeping up...While the truck is empty, climb a hill or use a freeway on ramp and get the egt's >1000, and keep an eye on fuel pressure. If it says above 10, you are likely to be OK. If it is 5-10, probably OK...should be meeting stock criteria. If <5, back out & take it easy.

Then, repeat the same test with your load. Same criteria.

Oh, and fill out your sig so we know what you have!

Unless you're heavily modded, lift pump pressure over 5 psi should be fine.

What year is your truck?
