I recently had my trani rebuilt. I was under the truck today and noticed a spring I don't remember being there. I'm sure it probly was, but my trani is not shifting from first to second at wot, unless I let off. Just hoping the spring has nothing to do with it. Hope you can see it behind the cable.
I can't call the shop until Monday. Thank's. |
kickdown return spring. It's supposed to be there.

Thank's. I was 99% sure, but wanted to make double sure. :p
Do you think the not shifting at wot is just an adjustment of the cable?? |
Wow, wide open throttle shift from first to second! What do you think will break first? I vote for a U-joint.

Oh believe me,,,it wasn't on purpose. I pulled out in front of someone and had to get on it. That's when I discovered the no shift. I did it again just to duplicate the problem. And ya,,,it's a problem. Anyone have any idea's what it could be. I hope to God it's just a cable adjustment. Is that possible. Thank's. |
It's very possible. Try to give it a little more cable and see what happens. Adjustment is up near the APPS. Push on the tab and move the cable. You'll see a "cone" shaped plastic piece on the end of the housing. Make that come out further from the square adjustment piece. Kind of hard to explain.

Make sure that the spring pulls the lever back forward al the way. I had the same problem and had to adjust my kickdown band.
