Is The Airbag Gonna Blow?

Hey guys I pulled into work this morning, drove over some bumpy railroad tracks and the airbag light came on for about 10 seconds went out for two or three seconds and now is on steady ..........any idea? I had the control module off about a month ago to work on the heater vacuum actuators but all has been normal otherwise. can I pull codes for this or.....

Maybe you didn't get it plugged back in good. I'd pull the batteries for an hours, then re-seat the plug to the module.

When i pulled the module I never disconnected it, just unbolted it and set it aside. will disconnecting the battery delete any current codes I may be showing?

Doubt if the airbag is going to go off on you, more likely is it won't go off if you get in an accident.
Best bet is to have the system scanned to find the problem, most likely a sensor connection.
I've read where insurance companies are now scanning vehicles that get in injury accidents where the airbag didn't deploy when it should have.
Apparently they can then deny injury compensation to you since you knew the light was on, the system defective and did nothing about it.
Think it's wise to fix it.

most likely your clockspring behind the steering wheel is starting to go bad.

Twist the wheel around a bunch, and rattle it, see if the light comes on or goes out, whichever may be the case. If it does, the clockspring is going out.

thanks guys I'll check the clockspring when I get back to the truck and pull the codes when I get access to a codereader OR Can I pull the codes on this truck myself?
