hey guys,

l need some reall help on this one, my battery gauge went down 11 then to zero and my check gauges light.......drove 30miles like this
parked next morrning truck drive 8miles round cycle get into my driveway batterys are flatr then a pancake. No gren eyes in em.
tryed charging them 10hours latter still no green eyes.
well l pulled these codes.
P-2149
P-2502
P-2509
P-2406
P-0622

l dont know howto test my alternator to see if its creating charge.
also when today when l fired it up it lastes 2mins on the dime befor the bat gauge suddenly drops zero check gauges light comes on.

its a 2003 dodge Ram 2500HD 4X4 Larmite crew/short box Cummnins
it has 209,733km on it right now.

any help would be greatly helped.

you can put a volt meter onto the red wire with a nut holding it on while your pickup is running should shot 13.9 14.5 volts. that will tell you if its charging. My 01 did the same thing about a month ago put a new alt on and works great now.

 

Check for charging as above. Charging volts should be as indicated by cnhdoc.
Disconnect pass side battery negative and see if can charge single battery. Dual bats make life different.
reconnect pass side bat.
Now disconnect driver side bat negative cable and see if can charge the other battery. Just trying to let you figure if battery is on fritz.
Another way is take batteries and alternator to friendly parts store that checks free.
