Exclamation 2006 2500 Diesel speed runaway

I have a 2006 2500 4x4. with 147000 mile on it. No chip just stock except a cat back system. It started to surge a little last week and then on Saturday while leaving the small town of Westcliffe, the truck just started to gain speed and I could not slow it down. I had to turn the engine off and then put it in nutral and start it back up to have breaks and steering in these mountains. I called the national vehicle board and they came out and took film of it as my lawyer told me to do. (Toyota?)

You can start it in park and just touch the fuel feed and it will red line. I have black smoke coming out now and it seemed that it dropped a couple of cylinders. Dodge in Canon city Co. sent a truck out to get it on Tuesday and they had their rep come down from Denver and check it out. He left nothing for me to look at and he sent the truck back to me at no charge and not fixed on Wednesday? I called the service manager and she said she didn't know what was the matter for he didn't discuss it with her other than he would call me Today, Thursday.

Question? Has anyone ever had this do it to them? the cruse was off no chips or anything. Good fuel, filter changed two weeks before the surge with oil change. change fuel filter every 7k. Would appreciate any help. I can work on it now but slow, just had colon cancer and I move slow and do not have the money to pay dodge cause we all know that it would be at least $125.00 an hour.

Any and all knowledge about this problem welcome.

Thanks J.R.

Perhaps the turbo is shot and feeding engine oil in to the engine as fuel causing the runaway? Or possibly bad injectors. What is the oil level like? overfull due to fuel washdown from bad injectors?

Oil

Oil level is good right where it was. Oil does not smell like diesel at all. If it was a oil leak in the turbo, would it tun off? Why would it start and stay at 700 rpm then when you touch the foot feed go to red line?

Thank you for answering.

No codes

The check engine light was not on when this happened and there were no codes. Now that the dealer has brought it back, I have a check engine light on and it blinks 10 times? I got it off the record that I have some injectors out and maybe #1 cylinder is scored? I don't know how they know that?

If injectors are bad,do I replace just the bad one or all of them and does anyone know of a good place to get rebuilt ones and what should I pay for them? I am sure i can put them in. I have worked on my grader (69 cummins 190) and i had no problem with it replacing injectors and all. I thank you all for any help you can give me on this.

Thanks for reading. J.R.

Stock 2500, got cat back system and seat covers and that is it.
