Changed the fuel filter on my dad's 2001. Filled the canister up as much as I could and cycled the starter 6 times to prime it. Problem is I''m not getting any noise to indicate that any pressure is coming through the line. Doesn't a 24V prime up pretty much like 3gen? I've loosened the fuel canister top, tried the banjo bolt on the VP. Would the lift pump not be working to cause this? Hell, how did it even run if that's the case. Truck's sitting in my driveway and my other half is PO'd. Help!

lift pump is probably not working, some oem lp's will fail and still not prevent the engine from running... my first one was that way, i drove it many miles w/out a lift pump

Lift pump, verify 12V at the pump and if you have it, time for a LP.

Now you need to put either a low FP light or FP gauge on your dad's truck.
